Arizona: 🛡 What Is an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card?
In Arizona, all educators working with students must have an Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card. This is the highest level of clearance available — and it’s required by law for classroom roles.
❌ Not All Fingerprint Cards Are the Same
If you’ve worked in education before, you might already have a fingerprint clearance card — but not all cards meet the requirements to work in schools.
There are two main types:
Card Type |
Meets School Requirements? |
Notes |
| âś… IVP Level One Card | YES |
Identity Verified Prints, approved for schools |
| ❌ Level One Card | NO |
Not high enough clearance for classroom work |
đź‘€ Check the front of your card carefully
If it doesn’t say “IVP” on the front, it’s not valid for classroom roles — even if it's active or was used in the past.
If you have a Level One Clearance Card, you’ll need to apply for a new IVP card before moving forward.
