📳 I accepted a role by mistake, now what?

In certain instances, you may have accepted a role by mistake or without fully reviewing the role description. In these instances, we want to ensure that you are aware of the next 2 fundamental steps in resolving this.

💭 Step 1:

Please read the role description once more and try your very best to assess if you can still attend this booking despite accepting it by mistake.

When educators accept a role, a confirmation is sent to our schools, which means that the school is expecting that specific educator to show up. For this reason, the ideal situation is for educators to do their very best to attend their accepted and confirmed bookings. This really helps reduce confusion and last-minute changes for our schools and students.

💭 Step 2:

Please navigate to your Zen Educate App, select your calendar, click on the date of the accepted booking and mark yourself as "Absent". When you mark yourself as absent, our platform is triggered to automatically replace your absence so that our schools are not left short-staffed.

When you mark yourself as absent, the Zen app will provide you with the option to add a note for our school managers to see. Our school managers will then be able to view your note and reason for absence. We advise that educators apply the note that best describes their reason for absence.

Please note that marking yourself as absent is essentially a last resort, and we recommend only doing this when in absolute need. Educators are essentially only recommended to take this step when 100% sure that they are unable to attend their booking.

✅ Best practice moving onwards:

To avoid similar instances moving forward, we strongly advise our educators to always carefully review the role description before accepting the role. This way, you can guarantee that you are confident about all necessary details, such as date, commute, and classroom setting, before committing to the role.

We strongly value our educators' preferences and availability at Zen, and we understand that mistakes and conflicting schedules can happen at times. We also take great pride in providing consistent support to our schools and want to reduce absences as much as we possibly can.

When in doubt regarding role descriptions, platform navigation or marking yourself as absent, you are always welcome to contact our Support Team at 📲213 516 6054 for further guidance.
