Daily Subbing FAQs
How do I accept daily subbing roles?
- Download on Google Play
- Download from the App Store
The app is the easiest way to receive, view, and respond to daily subbing requests. Enable your notifications and you'll instantly receive requests as they're posted. Daily subbing requests are not available on the Zen Educate website at this time.
When can I start accepting roles?
Right away! After you've been verified, you can start taking daily subbing roles. Typically, your recruiter will book you in for a Job Placement call with one of our account managers. This session will be focused on reviewing job opportunities and outlining the next steps to get placed in work. It will also be a time to provide you with general information on direct deposit, booking your first day, providing relevant contact information, as well as answering any questions you may have. However, sometimes you'll get daily subbing requests before that call happens.
I want to accept a request, but I haven't set up my payment or provided my direct deposit. How do I get paid?
Payment is set up after you've worked your first day with Zen. By the end of the day, you will receive an automated email asking you to sign up for Gusto. You will need to complete your Gusto profile for you to be paid. You will be paid weekly on Fridays by 5 pm via direct deposit. Our payment system works one week in arrears. As an example, if you worked this week, you will be paid next Friday. If you have more payment questions, please see our Payment FAQs here: Zen Educate Frequently Asked Payment Questions
I'm a paraprofessional. Can I do daily subbing?
Yes! Daily subbing has roles for teachers and paraprofessionals. If you signed up with Zen as a paraprofessional, the requests you received will be filtered with paraprofessional roles only.
Will declining roles affect my standing with Zen?
You're encouraged to decline requests that you are not interested in or unable to commit to (i.e the commute is too far, schedule is uncertain). Declining a specific request only means you're not interested in that particular role. It doesn't affect the rest of the day. Other requests may come in throughout the day that you can choose to accept or decline based on your interest and availability. So, each request is independent, and you're free to decide what works best for you.
When are requests typically sent out?
Daily subbing requests are typically sent out between 6:00 AM-10:00 AM for day-of assignments. If you don't hear from us by 10:00 AM, we don't have work for you. Advanced booking assignment will be sent through the app, text, and email as early as 2 weeks ahead of time.
